Parasailing and Water Sports at Crystal Beach: What's Available and How to Book

Aerial view of Bolivar Peninsula Texas showing trucks parked on the sand, beach access boardwalk, coastal dunes, and vacation homes along the shoreline

Parasailing and water sports at Crystal Beach add a different kind of view to your trip. Instead of looking at the water from the sand, you get to look down at the beach from 500 feet up, or cut across the bay on a jet ski instead of just wading into it.

Here is what is available and what to expect when you book.

Parasailing

The Experience

Third Coast Parasail operates out of Crystal Beach, flying passengers up to 500 feet above Galveston Bay. The actual time in the air runs about 10 to 15 minutes, but plan for the full experience, including the boat ride out, safety briefing, and wait time, to take 1 to 2 hours.

From that height, it is common to spot dolphins and other marine life in the water below. The company is based at 1295 N Stingaree Dr in Crystal Beach.

Booking Tips

Reserve your slot in advance, especially during peak season. Weekends and holidays fill up quickly, and walk-up availability is not guaranteed.

Arrive early. Parking near the launch site can get tight on busy days, and you will want time to check in before your scheduled flight.

Jet Ski Rentals

Crystal Beach Jet Skis, located at 1144 Black Slip Rd in Crystal Beach, rents jet skis by the hour. Typical rates run from around $140 for one hour up to $900 for a full 8-hour rental, with an additional charge per extra passenger. Group rates are available if you call ahead.

Kayak rentals are also offered through the same company for a quieter alternative to jet skis.

Confirm current pricing directly with the rental company, since rates can change by season.

What to Bring

Sunscreen and a hat. There is no shade on the water, and reflection off the bay intensifies sun exposure.

A dry bag or waterproof phone case. If you want photos of the experience, protect your phone before you get on the boat or jet ski.

Closed-toe water shoes. Useful for both jet skiing and getting in and out of boats at the launch site.

A valid ID. Most operators require it for waivers and age verification, particularly for jet ski rentals.

Plan Your Stay

Casago Bolivar Vacations manages vacation homes across Crystal Beach, Gilchrist, and Port Bolivar, many within a short drive of the parasailing and jet ski launch points. Book your house and your water activity for the same week and build a full day around the water.
